Satellite Imagery Jump to: Floaters West Atl. Central Atl. East Atl. Other

Click on any image to load an animation in GIF format which you can save or share! Most images generate animations with sizes of 1.0 to 1.5 MB. Imagery for each region is ordered with the visible (day) and shortwave infrared (IR2, night) hybrid first, water vapor infrared (WV) next, and long-wave infrared (IR4) last. The imagery from which these animations are created is courtesy of the NOAA Satellite Services Division and the Naval Research Laboratory. These animations will not load if javascript is disabled in your browser.

Note as of 8-14-12: This page is no longer updating current imagery. The author of these satellite images, NOAA SSD, has added GIF loops to their product line, making the content I was generating here obsolete, since it was the exact same thing. You can get GIF loops from the SSD site here. This page will remain up until I figure out what to do with it.
