Thank you for the updates. It’s extremely informative. Living in South Florida, I always pay close attention to the tropics.

The CMC shows a storm or Hurricane coming into S.Texas in 7-8 days.Originating from the the Yucatan channel.Whats your take on that?

    • Levi says:

That storm comes from the upper low I mentioned in the central Atlantic. The CMC typically develops almost anything, so it’s not really a significant concern unless other global models start showing the same thing. As I said though, the system should be watched.

Thaks Levi, I am also a South Floridian and look for informative news about the tropics, I’m glad your giving up your knowledge to a public starving for information. Please keep up the great work!!

Thanks Levi, great report. If both portions of the old Chantal develop, how would they re-name the storms? First one Chantal, second one Dorian?

    • Levi says:

Northern one would be named Chantal, southern one would be a different name, regardless of if the northern one develops.

Thanks Levi. It’s nice to get your insights free of the drama in other forums.

If the wave gets in the southern gulf and develops where would it go? Any possible threats to the Houston area?

    • Levi says:

Too hard to say before knowing where development occurs, if it ever does. Right now chances are low but something to keep a wary eye on.
