I love your videos I live in Hawaii. Your videos help me see a larger picture and thank you for sharing. I am curious about using earth at nullschool and try to use that website first guessing for storms before trying to ask National Hurricane center. it seems Eta is easy to follow at the nullschool wind map with your updates.. It would be cool if you posted links to the models you are explaining and give any advice advantages to using earth at nullschool and your opinion about the site.
Iam not educated enough to pull up the models you pull up on your website. And happy to just keep following your expertise.

So I was looking at this current imaging, about 9:40am:

    https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G16&sector=cam&band=Sandwich&length=24

From this, it looks like the storm is just west or slightly NE of Grand Cayman, yet the 7am update position is well SW of Grand Cayman and would indicate all shown convection would be on the N side of the center of circulation. Very strange.

What’s even more strange is that the storm seems to be way stronger than what the NHC is thinking.

  • John says:

I think it should just cross Cuba and continue NE out into the open Atlantic, like most storms do.
